Founded by Jackie, a nurse and mother of four who was moving through one of those seasons every woman knows: the one where you're juggling everything, and still expected to hold it all together and keep going.
As a nurse, Jackie understood her body and the science behind why she felt the way she did. But as a mother, she also felt the guilt. The exhaustion and overwhelm spilled over onto the people she loved most. She tried a few different things looking for relief, but nothing ever felt quite right. What she wanted was simple: to feel steady. To be fully present.
She started researching, studying, reading labels religiously, and soon Jackie began creating her own botanical drinks using magnesium, ashwagandha, lemon balm, maca root, and L-theanine, ingredients with a long history of traditional use that became part of her own daily ritual.
What started in her kitchen quickly became something bigger. The more she talked with friends, coworkers, and other women, the more she realized she wasn't alone. Women everywhere are moving through their own version of this season. The overstimulation, the full days, the exhaustion, the sense of carrying more than most people see. Often women feel they have to power through it all, keeping the ball moving while quietly feeling shame or guilt when it all becomes too much.
HerPotheca was born from the belief that women deserve to feel supported. That taking care of yourself is not indulgent, selfish, or something to apologize for. It is necessary, and something Jackie wants her daughters to learn from a young age.
Jackie wanted to create something that felt beautiful, functional, and intentional. Not another pill to swallow, but a ritual that gave women permission to pause, breathe, and take up space for themselves too.
HerPotheca was built alongside Jackie's husband and co-founder, JP, who is her biggest supporter through this journey. In the moments Jackie felt guilt over how stretched thin she'd become, JP reminded her that carrying a lot didn't make her "too much." It made her human, a woman doing what women do. Together, they created HerPotheca not just as a functional beverage, but as a conversation women deserve to have out loud.
Women should not have to silently push through the storm alone. We're here to say that sometimes the most powerful thing a woman can do is finally give herself permission to exhale.
